Altimetrik rolls out special Covid insurance cover for India employees

US-based business and IT transformation company Altimetrik has rolled out an insurance policy for approximately 2,000 employees in India.

The firm has earmarked USD 1 million in FY 20-21 to provide Corona insurance under the ‘Corona Kavach’ programme, and other Covid care/welfare benefits for India employees.

The insurance provides coverage of Rs. 3 lakh per employee/spouse/dependents for pre and post Covid hospitalisation treatment for 15 days to a month. The policy is effective from 1st August 2020 to mid-March 2021.

The insurance covers a range of benefits and treatments – allopathy, Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, homeopathy and Ayush at government-authorised hospitals, home treatment by qualified practitioners for up to 14 days, PPE kits, gloves, masks, pulse oximeter, oxygen cylinder, nebuliser and road ambulance expenses of up to Rs. 2,000, and co-morbidities such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, cancer, hypertension, lung fibrosis, HIV, cardiovascular/heart diseases and auto-immune diseases.

The company is also providing a one-time furniture allowance of Rs. 10,000 and monthly broadband reimbursement of Rs. 1,000 to all employees.

Additionally, from October 2020 the existing employee paid group Mediclaim will also be completely sponsored by Altimetrik, and the additional coverage will extend to employee spouses and any two dependents – children up to 25 years and/or parent(s)/in-laws above 65 years.

“Talent is at the core of Altimetrik’s existence as the business transformation accelerator for Fortune 100 companies. As we help enterprises adapt to the new normal, we have to shift gears with our internal policies to support our people in driving the digital imperative. In that effort, these measures are designed to empower our people in the Covid-19 work context,” Raj Sundaresan, CEO of Altimetrik, told ET.

India being a crucial talent market for the company, more staff welfare measures will be announced in the coming months, said Krishna Muniramaiah, Altimetrik head of HR for APAC region.

The company has partnered with a leading insurance company and administrator with a 7000+ hospital network across India to deliver the insurance benefits to its employees.
